Quitting tobacco is one of the most important things you can do to improve your health - including fewer doctor visits and lower health insurance! North Dakotans who use commercial tobacco products are at a higher risk of stroke, heart attack, asthma, depressive disorder, and COPD.
Breaking a habit—no matter what it is—is never an easy task. But if you’re ready to quit smoking and say goodbye to tobacco, Langdon Prairie Health Tobacco Cessation Services are here for you.
We follow a tobacco cessation program designed by Mayo Clinic. In partnership with ND Quits, we provide behavior modification counseling, medication, and nicotine substitution to support you through your quitting journey.
Our team is made up of LPH staff members trained in tobacco cessation. They also provide these services to patients who cannot smoke during their hospital stay— including offering medication and nicotine substitutes when needed. And did you know, all seven FDA-approved cessation medications – including over-the-counter medications – are covered under North Dakota Medicaid with a provider’s prescription?
Tobacco Cessation at LPH is personalized to you. When building your plan, our specialists consider your lifestyle, age, history, and individual goals to give you the best chance of success possible.
Tobacco Cessation is provided to the community free of charge – you will never see a bill for partaking in these services.
If you’re ready to quit, talk to your primary care provider about a referral to Langdon Prairie Health’s Tobacco Cessation Services.
