R. Wayne Reid, MBA

Chief Executive Officer
Wayne Reid is a seasoned healthcare operations executive with extensive experience in hospital administration and leadership across various healthcare settings. With a dynamic and forward-thinking approach, he has consistently delivered financial and operational turnarounds, driving facility growth and enhancing patient satisfaction.
 
Currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer at Langdon Prairie Healthcare in North Dakota, Wayne oversees a 20-bed Critical Access Hospital, Ambulance Service, and two Rural Health Clinics. He has successfully improved financial performance, quality, and patient and staff safety, leading to significant operational improvements and increased market share.
 
Prior to this, Wayne held executive leadership roles at Salem Memorial Hospital and Select Specialty Hospital, where he led transformative initiatives that restored financial health, improved operational efficiency, and enhanced patient experience. Notably, under his leadership, these institutions saw
significant improvements in revenue, compliance, and quality benchmarks.
 
Wayne's career also includes key roles at Bon Secours Mercy Health and HCA, where he managed largescale operations, implemented innovative healthcare solutions, and achieved substantial cost savings and operational efficiencies. His ability to lead high-performing teams and foster collaborative relationships with stakeholders has been instrumental in his success.
 
A military veteran, Wayne began his career in the United States Air Force, where he gained valuable experience in nuclear medicine and radiologic technology. He holds an MBA in Health Care Management and a Bachelor of Science in Health Care Administration from California Coast University.
 
Wayne is also actively involved in the healthcare community, serving on various boards and committees, including the TriStar Ashland City Medical Center and HealthTrust Radiology Advisory Board. His technical expertise spans a wide range of hospital information systems and radiology technologies, making him a well-rounded leader in the healthcare industry.

Darla Roder

Chief Operating Officer
Darla Roder is a highly skilled healthcare executive with over 18 years of experience in healthcare management, compliance, and leadership. As the Chief Operating Officer and Compliance Officer at Langdon Prairie Health, Darla has a proven track record of driving operational excellence, enhancing
patient care, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
 
Darla has been instrumental in leading Langdon Prairie Health to achieve significant milestones, including securing the #1 ranking for patient outcome performance in a five-state region for the Accountable Care Organization (ACO) in 2022. She also played a critical role in migrating the
organization from paper charts to the Epic electronic health record system, implementing a comprehensive policy tracking system, and correcting deficiencies identified by the Office of Inspector General (OIG).
 
In her leadership role, Darla oversees key departments such as radiology, laboratory services, IT, and human resources, and has successfully onboarded multiple CEOs. Her strategic initiatives, such as moving outpatient procedures to the hospital setting, have resulted in substantial revenue increases,
while her commitment to employee engagement has led to high levels of staff satisfaction.
 
Darla’s leadership extends beyond day-to-day operations. She has led the creation of strategic plans, Community Health Needs Assessments, and has been a key figure in the establishment of residency and faculty programs in collaboration with the University of North Dakota. Her ability to mentor and develop high-performing teams is reflected in her successful recruitment and retention of international workers and the positive outcomes of department surveys.
 
Her career in healthcare began as an Assistant Director of Nursing at Good Samaritan Center, where she supervised nursing staff, managed infection prevention, and ensured quality assurance. She is a Licensed Practical Nurse and a Certified Officer of Healthcare Compliance, with a strong commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient care and regulatory adherence.
 
Darla's dedication to improving healthcare services and her community was recognized when she was awarded the "Outstanding Rural Professional" in 2023.

Michelle Skillings, RN, BSN, MHA

Chief Nursing Officer
Michelle Skillings is a highly experienced healthcare leader with over 20 years of expertise in nursing and healthcare administration. With a strong foundation in both acute and long-term care settings, Michelle has held key leadership roles, driving significant improvements in patient care, staff engagement, and operational efficiency across various healthcare facilities.
 
Currently, Michelle serves as the Chief Nursing Officer at Langdon Prairie Health, where she oversees all clinical aspects of a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital. Since joining in April 2023, she has successfully driven initiatives that increased the average daily census, improved nursing engagement, and elevated patient quality through the implementation of new programs, including infection control and rehabilitative services.
 
Michelle's career is marked by a series of impactful roles, including Director of Nursing at Emerald Lakeview Health Care and Aitkin Health Care, where she managed long-term care facilities and focused on enhancing admission processes, improving customer service, and building efficient workflows. As the Chief Nursing Officer at Franklin Foundation Hospital, she managed a 22-bed critical access hospital, improving HCAHPS scores and strengthening the relationship between administration and staff, ultimately enhancing the hospital's financial stability.
 
Her leadership capabilities extend to executive roles, such as her tenure as CNO/CEO at Niobrara Community Hospital in Wyoming. There, Michelle led a 24-bed facility through significant cultural improvements, the addition of a new physician group, and the achievement of a trauma designation.  She has consistently demonstrated her ability to manage complex healthcare environments, implement electronic medical records (EMR), and oversee quality assurance programs.
 
Michelle's educational background includes a Master of Health Administration (MHA) from the University of Phoenix, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Webster University, and an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from St. Louis Community College. She has also completed leadership training with John C. Maxwell and holds certifications in Healthcare Quality and Supervision/Leadership.
 
Her commitment to healthcare excellence and her extensive experience in both clinical and administrative roles make Michelle a valuable leader in the healthcare industry, dedicated to improving patient outcomes and organizational performance.

Mari Chambers, MBA

Chief Financial Officer
Mari Chambers is an accomplished Chief Financial Officer with a distinguished career spanning over three decades in financial management and strategic leadership. With expertise in diverse sectors, including healthcare, broadcasting, and public accounting, Mari has consistently delivered exceptional results in financial oversight, operational efficiency, and team development.
 
Currently serving as CFO for Langdon Prairie Health, Mari oversees all financial operations, including cash management, financial statement preparation, and compliance with financial policies. She collaborates closely with the executive team to align financial strategies with the organization’s mission and works with external stakeholders such as bankers, auditors, and insurers to ensure organizational success.
 
Previously, Mari held CFO roles at St. Francis Health Service of Morris, Mid Dakota Clinic and Occupational Development Center, Inc., where she implemented cost-saving measures, improved financial reporting processes, and strengthened relationships with internal and external partners. During her tenure at FOX Television Stations, she served in various high-level finance positions, including Vice President of Finance, where she was responsible for budgeting, forecasting, and managing financial integrity across multiple locations.
 
Mari’s leadership extends beyond financial expertise to operational improvements, including policy development, team management, and systems implementation. Her ability to drive efficiency and profitability is complemented by her commitment to mentoring and developing high-performing teams.
 
Mari holds an MBA from the University of Phoenix, a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Westminster College, and an Associate of Applied Science in Accounting from Pikes Peak Community College. Her extensive software knowledge includes platforms such as PeopleSoft, J.D. Edwards, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Excel, underscoring her technical proficiency.
 
With a proven track record of financial stewardship and operational excellence, Mari Chambers is a results-driven leader who contributes significantly to organizational success.

Dr. Rory Ratzlaff

Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Rory Ratzlaff grew up in Langdon and is serving as the Chief Medical Officer for Langdon Prairie Health. With his bachelor's degree in Nursing from UND and his master's degree in Public Health from St. George's University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, this foundation provides for his servant leadership style and compassionate care to patients and families. Many family members are also passionate members of the LPH Team and he is proud to be back home caring for his community and leading great healthcare staff for Cavalier County.
