Courtney Short, FNP-C, has been a dedicated provider at Langdon Prairie Health since 2019, serving the community with a compassionate, patient-centered approach to healthcare. As a Family Nurse Practitioner, Courtney specializes in providing comprehensive care across the lifespan, managing acute and chronic conditions, and emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention.

Courtney earned her Master of Science in Advanced Practice Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of North Dakota, graduating with a perfect 4.0 GPA. Her advanced clinical training included rotations in rural primary care, women’s health, cardiology, dermatology, and obstetrics, giving her a well-rounded foundation to meet diverse patient needs. She is also a proud member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.

In her role at Langdon Prairie Health, Courtney provides a wide range of services, including comprehensive physical exams, DOT examinations, well-child check-ups, and women’s wellness visits. She is skilled in ordering, evaluating, and interpreting diagnostic tests to develop personalized treatment plans, ensuring high-quality care for her patients.

Courtney brings a strong background in nursing, having served as a Registered Nurse at Cavalier County Memorial Hospital and other healthcare institutions, where she gained experience in emergency, surgical, rehabilitation, and end-of-life care. She has also demonstrated leadership as a charge nurse and member of interdisciplinary committees.

Certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners since 2016, Courtney also holds advanced certifications in ACLS, PALS, ATLS, and DOT medical examinations. Her professional memberships include the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the North Dakota Nurse Practitioner Association, reflecting her commitment to staying current with evidence-based practices.

In her spare time, Courtney Short enjoys spending time with her family, including hunting with her husband. She is a member of the Langdon Community Band, where she plays the clarinet, and enjoys playing the piano and singing. At home, Courtney loves cooking and baking and never turns down the opportunity to snuggle up on the couch with a good book and her two dogs.
