LANGDON, ND [May 11, 2025] — Langdon Prairie Health (LPH) proudly joins healthcare institutions nationwide in observing National Hospital Week, held this year from May 11 to May 17.
The 2025 theme, “America's Hospitals: A Symphony of Compassionate Care,” beautifully illustrates the coordinated efforts of every individual working within hospital walls, each playing a unique and vital part in delivering high-quality care
From the physicians and nurses at the bedside to the laboratory staff, environmental services, administrative professionals, dietary aides, therapists, and beyond, the contributions of every role harmonize into exceptional care.
National Hospital Week has deep historical roots. First observed in 1921 as National Hospital Day, it emerged from the desire to rebuild public trust in hospitals following the 1918 Spanish flu pandemic. By 1953, the observance had expanded to a full week of recognition, now traditionally celebrated during the second week of May
This timing is no coincidence. It coincides with the birthday of Florence Nightingale, who was born May 12. Her revolutionary work laid the foundation for modern nursing. Her legacy is a reminder of the healing power of empathy, structure, and innovation, values that still define hospital care today.
Langdon Prairie Health takes pride in delivering top-tier care close to home. Whether a patient is receiving emergency treatment, undergoing rehabilitation, or recovering as an inpatient, they are supported by a dedicated network of professionals who make healing personal
As we celebrate National Hospital Week, LPH extends heartfelt gratitude to all team members who bring their talent, compassion, and integrity to work each day.
Their commitment is the foundation of the trust our community places in us and the reason we continue to lead with excellence.
