How do you respond to a multi-vehicle accident

On Saturday March 5th, Langdon Ambulance along with multiple agencies including the host fire department in Osnabrock participated in community mass casualty exercise, that involved a motor vehicle collision with multiple patients that struck an Anhydrous Ammonia tank causing a major leak with traumatic injuries, Langdon Ambulance transported patients to Langdon Prairie Health and the Langdon Clinic staff also participated in the triage and treatment of the patients along with the Emergency Department staff. How do you respond to a multi-vehicle accident including a leaking hazardous material like Anhydrous Ammonia?
Over 40 players from Osnabrock Fire, Langdon Ambulance, Cavalier County Sheriff's Office and other mutual aid partners learned at a 4-hour full scale exercise in Osnabrock, ND this morning!
Volunteers practiced a coordinated response, vehicle extrication, patient care, hazardous material containment, and various communications and alerting procedures.
